BEHIND TODERINE DE BARDI
Toderine de Bardi is a project founded by Sara Migliorati, an Italian bespoke tailor and costume designer, settled since 2014 in Berlin.
Her work includes theatre, dance and television and she is currently studying for her master's degree as costume technician and designer at the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden.
With Toderine's project, she wants to transmit to the new generations the beauty and value of a historical piece of garment in a fresh and unconventional way.
Sara has a strong belief in the value of high workmanship. Each corset is the result of deep and constant research, mixing traditional techniques with more modern ones, and it is handcrafted with profound passion and talent.
Her inspiration is always art and history, and her passion to a fault is craftsmanship and responsibility. Those are the simplest things. It goes beyond costumes and corsets. It's every part of her life.
The attention to detail and exquisite craftsmanship, either for historical looks or one-of-a-kind bespoke pieces, is Toderine’s trademark.
“My heritage is been my grounding.
I looked at the Italian history, culture and craftsmanship to learn traditions and techniques. Now, this knowledge serves my creativity.”
