The pattern for this corset has been drafted from an extant model dated 1864, the famous blue corset held at the Victorian and Albert Museum in London.
At that time the corsets were relatively short and not particularly tightly laced since the massive, full bell-shaped skirts made all waists look proportionally small.

It is the perfect corset for your Scarlett O’Hara costume, for a bit of “Gone with the wind” vibes
It can be worn over a chemise as base for a proper historical costume but can definitely be used in a more contemporary way.

It features orange and gold brocade as fashion fabric, English cotton coutil as strength layer and high-quality synthetic whalebones.
It has a centre front busk and centre back lacing with two-piece nickel grommets.

It is a historically inspired piece not suitable for waist training.
